Tech Tip Tuesday: If you get reports that your Facebook friends are receiving friend requests from you, it does not mean that you were hacked. People who do this do NOT have access to your personal Facebook account. Scammers will create a Facebook page that is meant to look just like yours, then they try to add people that are already your friends, then they send them malicious content in messenger. The reason they do this is their scam attempts work better if people believe it’s coming from a trusted source, like their friend. If someone has created an account that looks identical to yours, you simply need to report it, but rest assured your account has not been tampered with.
