FRIENDLY REMINDER: You have NOT been hacked We have seen an increase in Facebook statuses saying “Don’t accept a friend request from me, I’ve been hacked.” So we wanted to issue a reminder: Scammers create Facebook pages that are meant to look just like yours, then they try to add people that are already on your friend list. They do this because their attempts to scam work better if people believe it’s coming from a trusted source, like their friend. If someone has created an account that looks identical to yours, you simply need to report it, but rest assured your account has not been tampered with, and the scammer does not have any personal information.
